UEEx: from rank 99 to rank 2 for its own name, in four months

UEEx is a crypto exchange with the same problem as UPay: a Vue app Google could not read, three organic visits a month, and a brand name it did not rank for. Rendering was fixed with Cloudflare Workers instead of a costly rebuild, and a content and link programme did the rest.

The brief

UEEx faced a crowded market and a site search engines could not index. Moving to server-side rendering would have cost more than the exchange wanted to spend on a fix, and the audience could not find the platform for its own name, let alone for the exchange and coin terms it competed on.

The brief was to get indexed without the rebuild, to rank for the brand and for the exchange terms that bring traders, and to build the authority a new exchange needs before anyone deposits.

From the team

“We recommended Cloudflare Workers to cache only the pages that needed server-side rendering, instead of a rebuild the exchange could not justify.”

How the project ran

When What happened
Month 1
Audit and rendering: The audit identified the Vue rendering problem. Cloudflare Workers were set up to cache server-rendered versions of the priority pages.
Month 1 to 2
Research: Competitor, audience and keyword research for the brand, exchange and coin terms UEEx needed to own.
Month 2 to 4
Content and links: Content published for the mapped terms; outreach earned 4,000 backlinks from 50 referring domains.
Every month
Reporting: Rankings, traffic, links and domain rating reported and reviewed on a call.

What we built

Two decisions that mattered

Cache, do not rebuild

Server-side rendering would have meant re-engineering the platform. Caching rendered copies of the pages that mattered gave Google what it needed in the first month.

Brand first, then the category

An exchange that does not rank for its own name loses the traders who already know it. The brand term was fixed first; the category terms followed.

What is next

The next stage we would recommend is weekly content for the terms traders search that month, and a refresh schedule for the coin pages.
